I love those tacky Christmas sweaters with phrases and designs knitted into them.  Unfortunately, in Australia it’s far too hot to even consider wearing a knitted jumper around Christmastime.  Luckily I found this hilarious tee shirt that has an ugly-Christmas-jumper design on it, but is hot-weather appropriate.  Plus it quotes one of my favourite Christmas movies: Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Rather than opting to wear my tee shirt with shorts or jeans, I thought it might be fun to dress it up into a soft pin-up style outfit.  I selected festive shades of red and green, as well as a splash of gingham for a fun holiday look.

I decided to leave my hair fairly natural, rather than going for a full-on pinup ‘do.  I wanted this look to be somewhat casual.  I kept my makeup to a minimum, with just a swipe of glossy red lipstick to really bring some colour to the look.

I felt so festive in this outfit, which I felt was the perfect mixture of pinup and punk styles.  I love mixing traditionally casual pieces with more dressy items to make an outfit that feels unique and cheeky.
