The Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles were possibly my very first fandom.  I got into watching the cartoons when I was around four years old, and quickly became obsessed.  The live action TMNT movie was the first film I ever saw at the cinema, and to this day is one of my favourite films.  And the ninja turtles feature quite prominently in my wardrobe.  So this weekend when I was having a chilled day at home, I chose an awesome retro-print baseball tee featuring my favourite heroes in a half shell.

Can we take a moment to talk about these earrings?  I bought them at the beginning of the year right before my first meeting with my boyfriend, David.  I was panicked that the earrings I was wearing weren’t cool enough for meeting this dude, and I made a mad dash into Off Ya Tree in Swanston Street and found this amazing pair of doughnut earrings waiting for me.  As David and I had bonded over our mutual love of The Simpsons, it seemed appropriate that I should wear Homer’s favourite food for our first meeting.  These have quickly become one of my most worn pairs of earrings.
