I cannot believe that it’s April already. Where has 2014 gone? The year is already a quarter over and to me it feels like it just began.
My first outfit for this month is another slightly androgynous ensemble. I’m really having a lot of fun playing with tailored pieces and adding in feminine details at the moment.
I am wearing:
– Cream ruffled blouse (thrifted)
– Black Fletcher Jones waistcoat (thrifted)
– Black and white pinstripe pants (thrifted)
– Leopard print loafers from Target
– Gold knuckle ring (thrifted)
-Opal earrings (inherited from my Nana)
This blouse was one of the items that I snapped up when Mum and I went thrift shopping for my birthday last year. As my birthday falls at the beginning of winter, I didn’t get much of an opportunity to wear this beauty before it got too cold though. Now the weather is just perfect for this sheer, ruffled wonder.
I love the way the ruffles and the delicate drape of this blouse softens the man-style lines of the waistcoat and trousers. When I’m wearing an androgynous outfit like this, I like to keep my hair sleek and my makeup fairly minimal. Small, delicate pieces of jewellery and flat shoes complete this look.
It won’t be too much longer before it will be too chilly to wear my gorgeous birthday blouse, so I’ll have to get in as many wears as possible before the weather turns cold. I can’t believe how quickly this year is racing by.
