Daily outfit 10/1/2014

Today’s outfit is a bit different to my normal outfits.  Just for a change, I thought that I’d show you one of my super casual outfits.  I think that the world of fashion blogging can sometimes get too caught up in showing only perfectly curated outfits and images.  While I love seeing an amazing outfit as much as the next person, I also really love taking a peek inside bloggers’ more casual offerings.  I feel  as though showing one of my uber casual outfits occasionally is a bit more “real” than showing awesome pictures of me dressed to the nines.  Because while I love getting dressed up, I don’t do it every day.

DSCF9292I wore this outfit on my day off.  I started the day by walking with my mum and her dog, Brodie, around the lake.  Then I did some cleaning and went to a physio appointment.  My afternoon was spent blogging, answering emails and chilling out with some crafts.

DSCF9293I am wearing:

– Butterfly tank from Cotton On

– Blue harem pants from Cotton On Body

– Mother of pearl earrings (Nan’s)

– Purple sneakers from Spaulding

DSCF9294These pants are new.  I went on a big of a shopping spree on New Years Day (it’s totally not my fault! There were some amazing sales!) These pants were one of the things I bought.  They were just $10, and they are super comfortable.  I have a bit of a crush on awesomely printed pants at the moment,  and these were just the ticket.  I was a bit worried that they’d look too much like pajama pants, but I think with the right outfit, they’ll be just dandy.

  1. Hi Vanessa,
During our move last year I spent many months in super casual outfits. Cut-offs or harem pants and rough and ready tops, that was pretty much my uniform and not a scrap of make-up. It was very nice to take a laid back approach to dressing for a bit but equally it is very nice to be back sporting my beloved vintage frocks again too. I am a huge fan of comfy dressing when I’m pottering around the house and those funky printed pants of yours are very similar to a pair that I have and love.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment over on mine, it made me feel very welcomed back after my break from blogging.
All the best for you and your loved ones for 2014.
    Loads of love,
    Jennie

  2. So very true – life is not always a perfectly styled, gussied up, glam Vogue worthy photo shoot by any means and even the most stylish of dressers is entitled to a little uber causal wear every now and then, especially at home. For me, that usually means vintage flannel nighties and quilted 50s bed jackets in the cold weather and lightweight 50s/60s night gowns in the summer.

    • Mmm, I do love a good vintage night gown. At the moment the weather here is incredibly hot, so I’ve been swanning around in some deliciously light 1960’s slips and night gowns.

  3. So your new years purchases arrived?

You just look gorgeous and stylish always. I love not having any idea what I will see you wear next. ((((hugs)))) miss you! (shhhh don’t tell anyone….but I also miss Ringo)

    • Hehe! He’s a special little character. I think that he’s found a kindred spirit in you.

My purchases came really quickly. I’m looking forward to sharing how I style the other bits and pieces.

  4. Excellent sentiment and I agree casual posts are just as interesting and important (since they’re representative and reflective of real life) as dressed up posts.

I love the pants! The funky print and harem style are so cool 🙂 The main Blue is also very vivid and mood enhancing.

On my casual days I can usually be seen in combat/cargo or stretchy trousers and long sleeved tops, with a baseball cap or wide brimmed hat with a ribbon lol.

    • I’m always interested to see bloggers in more casual outfits, because I find that they really inspire me to mix up my day-to-day wear. It’s always fun to find a new way to make your casual outfits a bit more interesting, with a bold print or colour, or a funky-but-easy hairdo.
