It’s the first Things I Love Thursday post for this year! Woo-hoo! I’m feeling the love and I’m ready to get started on my list.
Mmmm-kay, here we go!
– House guests. Even though I love living on my own, it’s so nice to have a bit of company.
– Cheesy croissants.
– Having a huge, ruthless purge of my stuff. I started reading The 100 Things Project last week and I feel truly inspired. Although I don’t think that I could ever live with just 100 possessions, I do think that I could stand to own a lot less stuff. I’ve been taking a careful look at my shopping habits and cutting down needless spending. I’m also having a huge clean-out of my things. It feels so great to let go of stuff that I’ve been hanging onto for no good reason.
-Wearing pretty vintage underthings to bed.
– Filling in my new planner for this year. I feel so organized and nerdy!
– The feeling of intense anticipation of what 2014 will hold for me. There are so many possibilities and opportunities just waiting to take wing. I’m very excited.
– Yoga, as usual.
-Picking up some amazing yarns on clearance at the Boxing Day sales. I got some gorgeous colours and textures and I can’t wait to begin creating.
– The Office. I started watching the U.S version a few weeks ago and I am so hooked it’s not even funny. I had a couple of friends tell me I should give it a shot, but warned me that the first season is a bit of a drag. They weren’t kidding. But once I got onto season 2, it was all good. If you haven’t seen it, or if you’ve been put off by season 1, I definitely recommend giving it another go.
– Going to Pizza Hut with my brother and ordering The Works. Honestly, nothing has changed since I was a kid in the 90’s. That place is like a time capsule. The flavour of Mountain Dew on tap and cheese pizza made me feel as though I was seven years old again.
–Cards against Humanity. My brother got this game for Christmas and we played a round on Christmas night. It was freakin’ hilarious.
-Watching my mum’s dog flip out over kangaroo jerky. He loves that stuff!
Now it’s your turn. Start the year off with a burst of positive energy and list all the things that you love this week. Go ahead, you’ll love it…
We got Cards Against Humanity for Christmas. Freaking hilarious!
Isn’t it just?
A really good, thorough, leave-no-stone-unturned purge always makes me a very happy camper, too. Though I’m certainly not a minimalist, I’ve never been keen on clutter or owning excessively more than one needs (a felling that grows stronger which each passing year). The wee storage room in our basement is in dire need of just such a purge and I know that I feel so, so much happier and content with our home once it’s tackled (I need DH’s help, as I don’t have the physical strength to do it on my own, and it’s hard for him to find the multi-hour chunk of time needed to do it in his insanely busy work schedule; hopefully soon though, it’s been on my to-do list for months now!).
Big hugs & joyful Sunday wishes.
♥ Jessica
*PS* Thank you very much for your great comment on my fave lippy post this weekend. I’ve encountered Lipstick Queen online, but have never tried it before. If they’re offerings are GF, I’d be game for sure. I’d really like to find more shades in the pink family, and who knows, maybe their offerings might do the trick there.
Lipstick Queen lipsticks are incredible. I’m not sure if they’re gluten-free, but if they are I would highly recommend them to you. They have a really great range of shades and textures. I haven’t tried any of the pinks so far, but they have a gorgeous one called Pink Saint that is so lovely.
I’m doing pretty well with my clear-out, although I’m marveling at how easy it is to acquire new things, and so difficult to get rid of the old ones. I need to do a huge trip to Goodwill later in the week.
Pizza Hut is like a time capsule! My favorite drink was Mug root beer, though. Is that only an American brand?
I love The Office. I just finished the last season on Netflix. The last couple of seasons were a bit lagging but they made up for it in the finale. *tears*
I’m not looking forward to finishing The Office. I know that I’ll be so sad when it’s all over. I’m currently on season 5, and I’m totally ripping through it.
We don’t have root beer in Australia. I think the closest thing we’ve got is Sarsparilla, but I don’t really like it too much.
Yay for a good start to 2014!
Things I love this week so far: sparkly tights for NYE, landing 2 new small projects, spending my Barnes & Noble gift card for new books, and knowing my little sister is safe back stateside after her AF mission. 🙂
Happy new year to you! I love that you wore sparkly tights for New Year’s Eve. To me, it’s the ultimate night for sparkle anything!
My housemates introduced me to CAH and my partner gave me the game for Christmas. Randomly drawing cards from the black and white packs is a great instant laugh when feeling down.
Oh my gosh, that would be an awesome pick-me-up. I bet you come up with some hilarious combinations!
Things I love this Thursday – YOU!!!
also enjoying the peacefulness of your house.
I love you too! I’m so glad you’re having a good time and recharging a bit.
