I just had a little shiver as I typed the date. Is it really November? Really? It feels like this year only just began, and now we’re only a couple of months away from starting a new one. Time really does fly.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer here. I’m wearing one of my favourite tops today with some vintage jewellery.
– Butterfly-sleeve blouse from K Mart
– Jeans from Target
– Vintage chiffon scarf
– Wedges from Pucci (thrifted)
– Blue crystal beaded necklace (used to belong to my grandmother)
– Teacup ring from One Day in Paradise
– Giant jewel ring from Queen Victoria Market
I’ve been really struggling this week. The last month or so I feel as though I’ve been doing well, mentally. But this past week I’ve really fallen in a heap. I don’t even know why exactly, but I’ve been feeling teary and exhausted for the whole week. I’ve been trying hard to make an effort to get dressed in something fun and pretty each day though. I always feel a lot better when I’m wearing a cute outfit than when I just slob about in a tracksuit. For me, getting dressed is a creative outlet, and I feel more ‘me’ when I make an effort and dress up.
It’s been so strange having short hair now that the weather is getting warmer. For as long as I can remember, I’ve spent the hotter months trying to find a way to keep my long hair from sticking to my neck and shoulders. My mane was always such a burden in summer, so it’s going to be refreshing to have a shorter crop to deal with this year. I love how healthy my hair is feeling right now, and I’ve been wearing it out as often as possible to show it off.
Isn’t this necklace fantastic? It was my Nana’s but she passed it onto me a few years ago. I adore long necklaces like this. They’re so versatile. You can wear them as a single strand or doubled up. You can wrap them around your wrist over and over or even wear them as a belt. I adore this colour of this necklace too. Blue is my Nana’s favourite colour, and her wardrobe and jewellery box look like a blue rainbow. Barely a day goes by when Nana doesn’t wear something blue. I feel so lucky that she passed this gorgeous necklace onto me, to add a splash of her favourite hue to my own wardrobe.
