Things I love Thursday 17/10/2013

Happy Thursday to you, my gorgeous reader!  Have you had a good week so far?  I sincerely hope so.

This week I love:

– Spending time with my Nana.  Even if we aren’t doing anything special, it’s still so much fun to just hang out with her.

DSCF8983-Jelly’s belly.  We had some really sunny days over the weekend, and Jelly took full advantage of the rays, basking in the doorway.  My neighbour’s tom cat spied her over the fence and came over for a look, and Jelly was flirting like crazy with him.  She’s such a tease!

DSCF8984-Pan-fried salmon with a middle-eastern salad.  I love eating fish, but I’ve never cooked it because for some reason I thought it would be difficult.  Well, on the weekend I bought some salmon fillets and tried my hand at preparing them.  Not only was it super-easy and quick, but the end result was so delicious.

– Finally getting around to watching Breaking Bad.

– Bellydancing and hula hooping.  Both are pastimes that I’ve let slip by the wayside over the past few years, but this last week I’ve really gotten back into both.  I’ve been trying to set aside time each night to practice one or the other, and I’m having loads of fun.  I’m hoping to learn some more hula hooping tricks so that I can make a hooping video for the blog.

– Wearing sandals and bearing my toes for the first time in months.

-Wearing my new kaftan out on Sunday.  I love the beautiful colour and the bird-of-paradise design.

– Facebook chats with one of my old college mates, and laughing until I cried.

DSCF8990-New brooches.  This little kitty brooch was part of my spoils from the antiques and collectables fair on the weekend.  I love the way that the little goldfish moves when I walk.

–  Getting the final piece of my Halloween costume.

– Playing with my mum’s dog.

– Hugs from one of my favourite customers at work.  On my first day back after I got sick, he trotted over to give me a big hug and tell me that he hoped I felt better.  He’s a sweetheart.

-And finally, this video:

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  1. That brooch is so splendidly cute! I’ve bid on a couple that were similar to it over the years, but haven’t won one yet. I’d love to find my own, too, as I’m a huge cat lover (just as Miss Stella, who is asleep on my right leg as I type this). Isn’t Breaking Bad awesome? Tony and I have seen every episode from the beginning, and are still both a bit broken up (pun not really intended) about the fact that it ended for good this year. Oh well though, I guess that just means it’s time to find more great dramas to enjoy.

Big hugs & tons of happy Friday wishes,
    ♥ Jessica

    • I definitely feel you about Breaking Bad. I’ve gotten slightly addicted to it, and I’m already onto season 2. I’m trying to ration it though, because I know I’m going to be a bit put out when it’s over. I also began watching Downton Abbey and American Horror Story this week, and I’m alternating between the three series.

    • I’m hoping to try baking some salmon soon. I just fried mine in a pan and it was delicious. Plus it was so quick to prepare. If it weren’t so pricey, I think that salmon would become my lazy-night dinner.

  2. I’m so glad you’re feeling better! ❤ Jelly's so cuteeee. I can't eat seafood, for some reason. 😦 So many dishes sound ahmazing, but I've only been able to tolerate a few, and even what I can tolerate, it's rare that I can. I know, confusing!

Our week has been good!!! Filled with Doctor Who, My Little Pony, Guild Wars 2, and LOTS of cleaning!!!
