One thing I’m finding tricky about moving house is finding a new place to take outfit photos. I’ve been dragging my camera all over the house and yard to scout possible locations for daily outfit shots. So far I’ve found a couple of potential spots that will work depending on the weather. I’m very lucky because my flat gets a lot of sunlight, so if it’s a bright day I can take pictures indoors.
However, today was quite overcast and any indoor photos were coming up horribly grainy. So I had to retreat to the backyard for a photoshoot. I was happy with how these pictures turned out. However, while I was posing, I noticed that the elderly gentleman who lives next door to me was peering over his fence with a puzzled look on his face. No doubt he was wondering what on earth the girl-next-door was up to, prancing about in sequins and a turban. Clearly he hasn’t visited my blog before. Perhaps I should slip one of my cards into his letterbox?
– Red sequinned jumper (thrifted)
– Black turban from Ruby vintage
– Black harem pants from Target
– Red socks from ASOS
– Green loafers from Rubi shoes
– Brown resin ring (thrifted)
– Silver swirl ring
– Beetle ring (gift from my parents)
– Black cat earrings from Sisunyak
It was such a grey day that I needed to add a bit of colour and sparkle to my outfit. Then I went nuts and added loads of sparkle. And even more colour.
The weather has been really unpredictable lately. Last weekend I took a walk down to the lake in a flimsy summer skirt and a tank top. Today I’m wearing long socks, thermals and woolly knits all over again. Go figure.
I am also wearing a new lippy in these pictures. I decided to treat myself to a new lipstick just before I moved house. This one is Goodbye from the Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball range. It’s a beautiful sheer wine colour and I love it. It’s completely different from every lipstick I own and I’ve been wearing it quite a lot. It’s really moisturizing and it tastes slightly of coconut.
How cute are these kitty earrings? They were a birthday gift from my parents and I think they’re fantastic. They’re just a little bit quirky without being too over the top.
I had to cut all my nails short while I was moving because they kept breaking on me during the packing-and-lifting process. They’re slowly growing back though. I’ve been going sans nail polish the last few weeks to give my nails a rest, but with Spring just around the corner I’m reading to start splashing out with some bright shades again.
So that was my very first outfit post from my new flat. I hope you enjoyed it as much as my neighbour enjoyed watching me mince about in the backyard.
Oh that jumper is so fabulous and you make me wish I could pull off a turban!
You could definitely pull off a turban!
I really love the head piece and the rings!
Adorable!
Stop by my blog tomorrow and link up for Thrift Style Thursday 🙂

Thanks a bunch, I’ll be sure to check it out.
Then I went nuts and added more sparkle – and colour! Haha right up my alley. Really like the new setting.
Thanks a lot! I’m still playing around with my outfit photos because there are so many great settings to choose from in my new flat.
Gorgeous as always. I still can’t believe I ran into you in the city the other day. I was just sad I couldn’t catch up for longer.
I was so excited to see you! When I was walking towards you I was like, “Are you sure that’s her? Don’t just go up and hug a stranger!” It was a fantastic chance meeting. We’ll have to do it on purpose some time soon.
Very soon. I have tafe holidays in a week or two – maybe I could come visit? I think a trip out of the city would be just the ticket at the moment.
For sure. You’re welcome any time.
