Another day, another pin-curl set. This time I set my hair in the same pattern as my Marilyn set, but I didn’t brush the curls out when they were dry. Instead, I combed them with a wide-toothed comb to separate the curls and gave them a bit of a fluff with my fingers. I’ve got this fab set of 70’s-style fluffy curls which have loads of bounce.
I decided to pair my fuzzy hair with a hippie-luxe outfit.
-Purple velvet blouse (thrifted)
– Purple chevron skirt from Target
– Denim waistcoat from Cotton On
– Black lace-up boots (thrifted)
– Bicycle man brooches (gift from my friend Tom)
– Gold rock ring from ASOS
– Silver squiggle ring from Kliens
– Silver square ring from Diva
I bought this velvet top way back in March, and I’m pretty sure that it’s never made it onto the blog. I have worn it a bunch of times, but never on a day when I’ve remembered to take outfit photos. Oh well. I love the colour and the texture is so luxe.
My brooches are another gift from my friend Tom, the intrepid explorer. He bought them for me in Berlin during his travels. They are made from used bottle caps, with a design painted on enamel set into the cap and turned into a brooch. Tom bought me a pair because he thought I could wear them as collar buttons or cufflinks. I adore them.
I kept my makeup pretty simple today. Just a bit of BB cream, some blush and a touch of lippie. I made my eyes the main focus, with a wash of sepia-brown shadow over the lids. It’s one of my favourite eyeshadow colours because it makes my eyes look crazy blue, but it still looks quite natural and subtle.
I’m having such fun experimenting with all these different curls. Let me know if you’d like tutorials on any of the looks I’ve done, because I’d be happy to oblige.
I hope you have an awesome day!
That vest is kick-ass for your waist!
It sure is! It’s almost like wearing a corset.
