Daily outfit 8/7/2013

I sure did get a lot of new clothes for my birthday this year!  So much so that I’ve had to do a huge clean-out in order to fit everything in.  This dress was a gift from my parents, and I considered saving it until summer to wear it for the first time.  Then I realised that I just couldn’t wait that long, so I threw on some tights and a cardi and just rocked it.

DSCF8554I am wearing:

-Mink Pink dress

– Turquoise cardigan from Cotton On

– Black tights from Razzamatazz

– Leopard print loafers from Target

– Blue beaded necklace (thrifted)

– White beaded necklace (thrifted)

– Brown resin ring (thrifted)

– Fleur du lis ring from Diva

– Amethyst ring

– Signet ring (gift from my dad)

– Silver charm bracelet which used to belong to my auntie.

I wore this outfit to do some blogging and crafting, eat pizza and go to the movies with Ross.

My mother pestered me for ages to try this dress on.  I’d owned it for more than two weeks before I got around to doing it.  It’s mainly because it’s so chilly here at the moment, and I’m not going to take my clothes off unless I absolutely have to.  Once I did finally get around to wearing this, I realise that it was a perfect fit.  It hugs my curves in all the right places and the print is so much fun.  I can’t wait for the weather to warm up enough for me to wear it barelegged and without a cardi.

I had planned on wearing this dress with gold jewellery, but then I decided that it might be more fun to layer on some beads.  I really like the way that it looks.

DSCF8557Makeup-wise, I went for a slightly winged eye and a coral lip to compliment the shades in the dress.  I had originally planned to wear my hair up in a big top-knot, but I decided against it because:

a. I’ve worn my hair that way three times this week.

b. If I wore all my hair piled up on my head, the poor person sitting behind me at the movies wouldn’t be able to see a thing.

So I opted for Frida braids instead.
