Daily outfit 1/4/2013

Happy April Fools’ Day!  I hope that you’ve managed to pull off a deliciously hilarious prank today.  I had a great prank planned to play on one of my workmates, but sadly it’s a public holiday so I’m not going to get a chance to do it.  Never mind.

Today I’m experimenting with a few different pastel shades.  Layering pastels on pastels like this kind of makes me feel like an ice cream cone.

I am wearing:

– ” I love Carbs” tee from Jay Jays

– Mint green blazer (thrifted)

– Lavender jeans from Jay Jays

– Assorted button badges

– Hot pink flats from Rubi Shoes.

–  Swarovski crystal earrings (gift from my parents)

I added my hot-pink shoes as a bright pop against all those pastels.  I’m all about colour today!

I don’t think I’ve shown these jeans on my blog before.  I got them from Jay Jays on Boxing day, and I just love them. I have another pair in hot pink that I wear all the time, so I was so pleased to be able to grab another pair in a fresh new shade.  They are so comfortable and soft.  Plus, they are a great fit and a good length.  I find it really hard to get jeans that are the right length because I’m so short, but these are exactly right for me.

It’s true, I love carbs.  This shirt is so much fun to wear.

I kept my makeup really soft and natural today.  I decided that I had so much colour going on with my outfit, that I should pare my makeup back a bit. Although I love experimenting with bright and wacky makeup, it’s so awesome to have a light- makeup day sometimes.

A close-up of my badges.  I got the ice-cream brooch as a gift from my grandmother when I was about three years old.  I don’t remember where I got the other two, although I think the “it’s not easy being green’ badge came from Smiggle.

So that’s my outfit for today.  Happy April Fool’s Day.

Did you play any pranks?  If so, I’d love to hear about them!

    • I never used to be the biggest fan of pastels. I was always worried that they looked too “little girl-y” on me. It was this blazer and these jeans that changed my mind!
