New year’s resolution update: February

I can’t believe that February is already at an end.  It’s insane how quickly 2013 is zipping by.  You might remember that at the beginning of the year, I set myself a new year’s resolution for each month.  February’s resolution was to finish moving my blog posts from my old blog to my new blog.

When I first began blogging, my online home was a crummy Webs blog.  There’s a reason that Webs isn’t a bit name in blogging.  My site was ugly, clunky and difficult to navigate.  In May last year, I launched a new blog on WordPress.  Wordpress has made blogging so much easier.  I’m able to schedule posts, which makes it easier for me to be consistent with my posting schedule.  I have a lot more control over the format of my posts and the appearance of my blog.  My site is also a lot more reader-friendly.

When I launched my WordPress blog, I had over 500 posts sitting in my old archives.  I began the arduous task of moving all the old content over to the new blog.  I had hoped that I would have it done within a month.  But then, life happened.  I got busy, work started piling up and I neglected my archives.

I got really sick of having two blogs operating: one that I love and one that I can’t wait to shut down.  So I decided that it was high time I got my butt into gear and finished importing the old blog posts over to the new blog.

And, how am I doing?  Pretty darn well.  I’m not going to lie, I haven’t quite finished yet.  I’ve still got a few odd posts to move over.  But the majority of the work is done.  I am going to put in one final burst of energy and get the last of those suckers moved over this afternoon, so hopefully I’ll be able to shut my old site down for good in a week or so.

While going through my old posts, I found a couple of favourite archived posts.  Here are a list of some vintage Nessbow posts that I thought you might like:

Superhero Style (originally published August 2010)

How to rock at karaoke (originally published October 2011)

Rocky Horror Night at Red Bennies (originally published February 2011)

Daily outfit: Tim Burton exhibit at ACMI ( originally published June 2010)

I got them ol’ Kozmic Blues again!  (originally published April 2012)

So, even though I haven’t quite ticked this resolution off my to-do list, I’m well on my way to being able to do just that.  Success is very close.

    • I laughed out loud when I read your comment, because this picture doesn’t show the massive tantrum I had in the process of creating this hairdo!
It took a lot of combing and coaxing, and plenty of pomade to get this look to happen.

    • Thanks a bunch. That dress is one of my most favourite vintage finds. It’s from the 1970’s and it still had it’s original tags when I bought it. I briefly considered leaving them on and never wearing it, but then I figured that the old girl had been waiting 30 years for a spin around the block. I couldn’t make her wait in my closet a moment longer!
