Today’s outfit is all about mixing and matching. I was in a funny mood when I put this outfit together, and I found myself combining elements of sweetness and sexiness, mixing modern and vintage to create an ensemble that’s fun to wear.
I am wearing:
– Pearl necklace (gift from my Nana)
– Rocky Horror tee shirt from Supre
– Polka dot pencil skirt from Best and Less
– Black flatforms from K Mart
– Jack Skellington bracelet (gift from Violet).
– Sapphire ring (gift from my father).
– Multi-coloured stone ring (gift from Nisarg)
– Amethyst ring
I really love this outfit. I like mixing items that are generally thought to be prim and proper (polka dots, pearls) with edgier items. The form-fitting shape of this skirt, my Rocky Horror Tee and the Tim Burton bracelet all lend a hint of naughtiness to this otherwise nice outfit. I balanced out my super-modern flatforms with a vintage hairdo and added a red lip for good measure.
A closer look at my make up.
I’ve had requests from several of my readers asking for close-ups of my accessories, hair and make up. I’m taking a bit more time to shoot these things in detail, so that you can get a better sense of the little touches that finish off my outfit. I’ve also been playing around with some different photography techniques to try to improve my pictures. Let me know what you think.
Do you ever mix-and-match to create naughty-but-nice outfits? What kind of things do you pair together to create this look?
Well that is just fabulous. 😉
Oh, thankyou very much!
I love it! Especially the skirt, best and less is so underrated 🙂
I know, right? I’ve bought loads of cute things from Best and Less.
I love this outfit! I liked seeing the close-ups of your makeup, hair and accessories.
xx Katie.
Thanks! It was tricky to take the pictures of my hair, makeup and jewellery, but I’m going to keep doing it. I think that the best parts of an outfit can be in the details, so it’s good to be able to share those little things.
