Party dresses for special occasions.

This is a sponsored advertorial post.

I always struggle to find something to wear for special occasions.  When you do your best to dress up every day, it can be tricky to find outfits that are extra-special to wear to parties or important dates.  This problem gets even bigger at this time of year, when it seems as though each week brings a new celebration.

My solution is to keep a couple of super-spectacular pieces in my wardrobe and only bringing them out for parties.  If you have a gorgeous dress, then all you need to add to it are a pair of heels and a little jewellery and you’re ready to hit the town.  Party dresses take so much stress out of deciding what to wear, and if you choose one with a bit of personality, then you’re sure to stand out from the crowd.

Boohoo.com is  a fantastic website that has a massive range of party dresses.  Their prices are really reasonable and they offer free shipping on all orders to Australia.  It’s a brilliant place to shop for that perfect special-occasion outfit.

I’ve been browsing through their catalogue and I’m smitten with the range of party dresses on offer.  Here are a couple of my favourites:

Una One-Shoulder Embellished Trim Midi Dress

I am a sucker for all things purple, and this divine dress is no exception.  The colour is so rich and it would look great with either gold or silver jewellery.  The draping line of the skirt and billowy fabric make this dress ideal for summer parties.

Kim Long Sleeve Scoop Back Maxi Dress

In my opinion, the back is a seriously underrated body part.  Exposing a flash of skin at the back is ludicrously sexy and a tad more unexpected than showing off your legs or cleavage.  Pair this dress with sky-high heels, sleek hair and a red lip and you’ve got a recipe for a supremely gorgeous look.  At $30, it’s an absolute steal.

Lara Lace Neckline Body Con Midi Dress

The Lara dress is my pick for the best dinner-date dress.  It clings to your curves and shows off all your womanly assets.  The longer length and lace detail over the bust keep the look classy.  A pair of gorgeous shoes are all you need to compliment this bombshell dress.

Frankie Contrast Colour Drape Front Body Con Dress

This cute dress would be ideal for a night out with the girls.  The carefree draping and fun colour make this the perfect dress to wear for a girly night out.   The waistband highlights the narrowest point of your waist, which creates a gorgeous silhouette.  You could dance all night in a dress like this.

Annie Flocked Knot Midi Body Con Dress

The first thing that sprang to mind when I saw this dress was “Joan Holloway”.  I’d team this figure-hugging dress with a red lip, vintage heels and a beehive for a look that would drive all the men mad.   The modest length means that you could easily layer a blouse or blazer over the top for a left-of-centre work outfit.

What’s your go-to outfit to solve any party-season wardrobe woes?

    • Oh, thank you! I think that Annie is my favourite overall, but I like each of the ones I chose. It was difficult to stick to just five, because there are so many lovely dresses on Boohoo. And some of them are so cheap!
