It’s nearly Christmas, you guys! I can’t even tell you how excited I am right now. I’m all organized and ready for the big day tomorrow. This is an extra-special Christmas for me. It’s the first time in my life that I won’t wake up in my old bedroom at my parent’s house on Christmas morning. That’s huge for me. I’m slightly worried that it won’t feel like Christmas because I’m in the ‘wrong’ place on Christmas morning. I’m very big on routine and tradition, so spending the holiday in a different location is a big deal.
On the flip side, this will be my very first Christmas in our new house. More importantly, this will also be the very first Christmas where Ross and I will wake up in the same house on Christmas morning. Ordinarily, we’d spend Christmas eve with our own families and then catch up with one another after breakfast. Tomorrow morning, we will wake up in the same bed, eat breakfast together and open our presents in our new loungeroom. Then we plan on doing a magical mystery tour of present distribution. We’re going to have lunch apart with our respective families. Then in the evening, my brother, Ross’s sister and Ross’s uncle and his girlfriend are all coming over to our house for dessert and video games. It’s going to be a great day.
This calls for a slightly special outfit:
– Rose tank top
– Red skirt with black overlay from 7 Angels
– Pierre Fontaine bejewelled mules
– Red jewel earrings from Mystic Wares
– Red jewelled ring (gift from my aunt)
– Silver thumb ring (thrifted)
Oddly enough, the top main pieces in this outfit are actually items I’ve owned since my teen years. I begged my nana to buy me this singlet when I was twelve, because I loved the rose so dearly. She purchased it in secret and then presented it to me as a reward for getting top marks in my class on a test. The skirt was bought on a trip to visit my cousin Vicci when she lived in Melbourne, thirteen years ago. It’s funny to think that I’ve owned both of these garments for more than half my lifetime!
I jazzed them up with some modern shoes and a vintage-inspired hairdo.
I hope you’re all having a splendid Christmas Eve (and that you don’t have too much trouble sleeping tonight!)
I won’t be posting tomorrow, because I’ll be spending the day with my family, enjoying some delicious food and playing Rock Band with my brother. I hope that you all have an excellent Christmas, and I’ll be back here again on Boxing Day.
Merry Christmas and best wishes to all my lovely readers!
I love this look! That skirt is gorgeous, and you are gorgeous. 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!! 😀
Oh, thankyou so much! I love the overlay on this skirt, because it changes colour depending on the light. My Christmas was awesome, and I hope that yours was equally fantastic.
Happy Christmas to you!
Merry Christmas to you too! I hope you had a fantastic day!
Wow, you are motivated. My Christmas Eve outfit so far is my pjs!
Haha! After lunch on Christmas Day I spent pretty much the entire afternoon in my PJs.
merry christmas nessbow! one thing i would like is a little bit more detail aboiut your hair, especially when you wear it in a more elaborate way 🙂
Merry Christmas to you too!
The hairdo in this outfit post is basically this hairdo:

The only difference is that I’m wearing the back in a ponytail rather than a vintage roll.
