Things I Love Thursday 22/11/2012

I’m back for yet another Thursday of gratitude and giggles.  Each Thursday I share a list of all the things that I’ve been loving during the week.

This Thursday, I love:

– Homemade vegetable soup.

– Accidental afternoon naps

– The fact that Jellylorum likes blogging as much as I do.  It seems as though every time I leave my laptop unattended this week, she’s jumped up and stolen my seat.  When I first got Jelly, she used to sit on my lap while I wrote, and now it seems as though she thinks she should have the computer to herself.

Oh, and it was Jelly’s birthday this week.  She turned 5 years old.  We celebrated with lots of hugs and a new catnip mouse.

– Finally dislodging the gigantic milk thistle that had taken over my front garden bed.  There was a moment after I’d yanked it out of the ground when I held the weed’s carcass aloft and laughed maniacally at the sky.  Because, you know, I’m great at overdramatizing.

-Puppy love!  This sweet ball of fuzz is Miss Lottie.  She belongs to my friends Violet and James.  I visited them a few weeks back, and we spent practically the whole afternoon playing with her.  She’s absolutely adorable, and she’s very, very smart.  Violet sent me these photos a few days ago, and I just had to share them with you.

-Crocheting.  I found  a huge bag of beautiful mohair yarn at the second hand store last week, and it’s been providing me with hours of crocheting fun.  I made a couple of berets and I’m really happy with how they turned out.  The best part was that I didn’t even use a pattern, so I’m especially proud of myself.

They’re both currently for sale in my etsy store.  I’ve got a few more projects cooking, so stay tuned.

– Christmas anticipation.  I’ve gotten far too excited for Christmas already.  I’ve done most of my shopping, I’ve bought some decorations and I’m already planning my Christmas baking.  I need to keep reminding myself that there’s still a month to go before the big day.  It’s hard not to get excited though, because I love Christmas, and all the Christmas music and decorations in the stores is getting me all worked up.  I really need to pace myself a bit.

As you can see, I’ve been very pleased about a lot of things this week.  What about you?  What’s been getting your grin going this week?

    • She was upset that I was trying to make her move from my seat! The puppy, Lottie, belongs to my friend Violet. I really wanted to slip her into my bag and sneak her home, but I think her real family would have missed her way too much!

    • I doubt that Jelly would have much to blog about. Her blog would probably look like this:
“Today I slept for four hours on my red blanket. Then I got up and did some stretching. I finished the afternoon by sitting on the windowsill in the sun. Ringo stole part of my dinner. What a bastard”.
It’d be full of cute photos though…

  1. This Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the States.
I’m thankful I have food to cook and a house to cook it in. 🙂
And for blog friends all over the world.

    • They’re very good things to be thankful for. Sometimes we get so caught up in thinking of bigger and fancier things to be thankful for that we forget the basics.
