Things I love Thursday 27/9/2012

Well hellooooo Thursday!  It’s so nice to see you again. This week I’ve got loads of things to love, and I’m going to start rattling them off before I forget them all.

This week, I love:

– Terry Pratchett.  I have been a huge fan of his Discworld series for as long as I can remember.  I even met him a few years ago at a book signing and he was truly lovely.  On Sunday night, I watched a documentary called Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die.  In it, Pratchett talks about his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease and his thoughts on assisted suicide.  I found the documentary very upsetting, and extremely thought-provoking.  I truly admire Terry Pratchett for his honesty and openness about his journey.

– Spending a sunny day with my beloved taking hundreds of photographs around our town.  I sometimes forget how beautiful my hometown is until I’m looking at it through the lens of a camera.

-Crocheting.  My mother taught me how to crochet years ago, but I haven’t touched my hook in over four years.  The other night, I had a hankering to give it another go.  After much fumbling around and watching Youtube tutorials to jog my memory, I managed to start this granny-square blanket.  When it’s finished, it will be going into the cat’s bed.  I can’t wait to start working on some more adventurous projects.

– My grandmother.  My Dad’s mother has been visiting my parents this week, and it’s been so nice to have the opportunity to spend some time with her.

-These TARDIS shoes I made for Ross as a belated anniversary present.  I’m pretty pleased with how well they turned out.

-Halloween anticipation.  I went to the op-shop on the weekend and found the most perfect dress to use as part of my Halloween costume this year.  I’ve been busily planning blog posts, recipes and video tutorials in preparation for the spooky season.  I can’t wait for it to begin.

-Hand-written letters from old friends.

-Playing around with some zombie makeup for a video tutorial I’ll be doing in a little while.

I was quite pleased with the end result, and I can’t wait to show you guys how I did it.

The best part about it was walking into the loungeroom in my makeup and scaring the bajeebus out of Ross!

What’s making you smile this week?  Don’t hesitate and don’t delay, leave a comment telling me all the awesome things that have been happening in your world this week!
