Daily outfit: 3/7/2012

It’s very rare that I wear a bunch of brand-new things all at once.  It’s actually rare that I have a bunch of all-new things, because I’m trying to limit my clothes buying a bit.  However, seeing as how I just had a birthday, I do have a lot of lovely pressies about, waiting to be worn.  During the week, I found a couple of gorgeous items on sale, which I just couldn’t pass up.  This skirt is one of them.

I am wearing:

– Cat’s-eye glasses from Clearly Contacts.

– Black bodysuit from Remember Me

– Denim vest from Cotton On

– Purple chevron skirt from Target

– Pendant (gift from Sam)

– Vintage filigree belt (gift from Adam)

– Brown leather boots (thrifted)

– Beetle ring (gift from my parents)

– Amethyst ring

– Gold butterfly ring

– Emerald ring (was my grandmothers)

– Owl ring from Diva

I saw this skirt a month or two ago, but I thought that it was a bit too pricey at the time.  Last Wednesday night, it had been reduced to just $10.80, so I snapped it up.  I really love the colours in it.  It’s a really light fabric too, which feels gorgeous to wear.

This vintage belt was a birthday gift from one of my best friends.  It used to belong to his grandmother, who passed away eight years ago (on my eighteenth birthday, no less).  He found it a couple of weeks ago, I decided that I was the best person to give it to, because I would actually wear it.  I adore the sparrow motif.  I plan on getting a lot of wear out of this.

This pendant was a gift from my lovely friend and ex-housemate Sam.  When it arrived in the mail, I was ecstatic.  It is exactly my style.  Sam has a way of picking out the perfect jewellery as gifts.

I finished off this outfit with a quorum of rings.  It was such fun piling them onto my fingers.

Do you ever wear lots of new clothes together, or do you prefer to eke them out, wearing just one piece at a time?

  1. I love how vibrant that skirt is. It’s such a nice length too and goes well with that belt!

I always get excited with new items/clothes and try not to wear it all at once haha!

    • I’m so pleased I bought it. I had a small hit of Buyers Remorse as I was walking home with it, but as soon as I tried it on, I was sure I’d made the right choice. I adore it.
