I’ve been thinking a lot lately about super hero styles. It started with the release of Romance Was Born’s new collection, which has been heavily inspired by Marvel comics. My inspiration was fuelled when I watched the new Avengers film. The sleek, sexy lines and tough textures sparked a fire in my mind, and I started to assemble a number of outfits inspired by each of the members of the crime-fighting team. Ready to unleash you inner Avenger? Well, all you need to is pick your favorite character and check out these ensembles:
Iron Man
Stick to shades of red and golden yellow. Include plenty of hardware and sleek lines. Gold and rough metal embellishments are the perfect way to add a little superhero glamour to this outfit. Finish off with a pair of sunglasses to hide your eyes from your fans.
The Hulk
Purple shorts act as a base for this smashing outfit. Add a punky tee and some rough-and-tumble boots to give a rock-and-roll edge to your look. Finish off with heavy eye makeup in shades of green and purple and a comic-inspired necklace. Keep a haughty air about you in this outfit. There’s a glint in your eye that tells people they shouldn’t piss you off, because they wouldn’t like you when you’re angry.
Captain America
Use a pair of amazing flag-print tights as the basis for this outfit. Layer pieces in red, white and blue over the top and garnish with a liberal sprinkling of stars. Slip your feet into a pair of worn army boots to add a touch of miliary style to this outfit.
Thor
A flowing, white, grecian dress is a great way to envoke the mythological spirit of this character. Keep your shoulders warm with a crimson red cape and pop a pair of neutral-toned boots on your feet. Winged glasses add a touch of whimsy to this outfit. Be sure not to forget to add a hammer, in the form of a cute pendant.
The Black Widow
If you’re feeling sexy, sultry and strong, then this is the outfit for you. Wiggle yourself into something tight, black and fatalistically alluring. Keep your accessories gothic, with plenty of leather and silver embellishments. This outfit is positively dangerous, and your liable to leave destruction in your wake when you wear this out on the town.
Hawkeye
Shades of blue and purple are the way to go to emulate Hawkeye’s comic book style. A pair of cats-eye sunglasses will keep the glare out of your eyes and give you the best chance of spotting your target. Add jewellery shaped like bows, quivers and arrowheads to finish off your ensemble.
Who is your favorite Avenger? Would you pay tribute to them in outfit-form?
My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find most of
your post’s to be exactly what I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content for you?
I wouldn’t mind producing a post or elaborating on most of the subjects you write with regards to here. Again, awesome web site!
Hi there. At the moment, I’m not accepting guest posts for my blog. Thanks so much for your inquiry though.
[…] I’ve done a lot of style posts inspired by films or books, but my Avengers Style post is by far the most popular of them […]
[…] also got me a series of Avengers artwork, based on the Avengers Style post I did a while back, and a set of Muppets prints, based on this post. Not all of them are […]
Oh! I want the Hawkeye clothing selection! I have yet to see the movie, but guh I WANT TO SEE IT SO BADLY!
The movie is awesome, I think you’d really enjoy it.
I based Hawkeye’s outfit on his comic book outfit. His outfit in the film is pretty boring, and it’s very similar to The Black Widow. His comic book look is much more flamboyant, which was more fun to work with!
I’m not sure who i’d say my favourite Avenger is, but I’d definetly pick the Black Widow outfit choice! I love it!
I’m glad! I love that particular outfit as well, it’s just so slinky.
