Valentines day outfits.

Well, love it or hate it, Valentines Day is coming up. Personally, I’m a firm fan of V-day. Not only is it an excuse to spoil your lover, but it’s also an excellent day to reaffirm the love you have for yourself. Whether you’re coupled or single, Valentines Day is the time to take stock of all the love you have in your life, be it romantic, plutonic or self-love. What better way to start off a day of love than with an incredible outfit? I’ve put together five fun options to suit every Valentine.

Flowers and pretty florals are perfect for Valentines Day. Rather than going for the traditional pastel options, try something brighter. A punchy floral print comes to life with a few tonal accessories. Finish the look with soft pink lips and a tousled hairdo.

Flying solo this Valentines Day? It’s time to kick up your heels and celebrate the awesomeness that is you! If you’re having a me-party this V-Day, shimmy into a sequinned dress, and then add a sprinkling of gorgeous jewellery. A fab hair accessory or fascinator will be the crowing glory of your outfit. With The Great Gatsby hitting cinemas later this year, I’m betting that 1920’s fashion is going to be all the rage. Get a jump on it with a fab flapper dress, perfect for a night out on the town.

One item that’s been on my fashion lust-have list for quite some time is a pair of Vivienne Westwood Dragon Lady heels. The sweet heart on the toes is perfect for Valentines Day. Pair these bad boys with a wiggle skirt and lush jewel tones for a look that sizzles.

Not really into the whole hearts and roses thing? Do you find Valentines Day a wee bit tacky? Do you still want to celebrate, but don’t want to be swathed in puke-worthy pinks and muted pastels? No matter, this ensemble is perfect for maintaining your hard-core image, but the heart-felt slogan tee and pops of red give a subtle nod to the Valentine’s spirit.

For the ultimate romantic ensemble, take a cue from one of the most famous romantics- Juliet. I loved Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliet, and her feathered wings have been forever imprinted on my memory. Get the look by sliding into an ethereal maxi dress. Leave your heels in the closet and plump for sweet sandals. A pair of wings is all you need to finish off this heavenly look.
