Daily outfit: Happy Birthday Mr Burton

Last Friday it was Tim Burton’s birthday. I am a huge fan of Mr Burton and his work. I never cease to be enchanted by his films. Last year, I went to the Tim Burton Exhibit at Acmi twice, and was blown away by the original artwork and film props. On Friday, I decided to dress in tribute to Tim Burton:

I am wearing:

– Vampire-style cape jacket. I don’t remember where I got this. I think it was a free gift with a dress that Ross bought me on Ebay. I have never worn it, but I actually really love the way it looks.

– Black slip (thrifted)

– Black pinstripe socks

– Ruby slippers from Payless Shoes

– Claw ring from Sportsgirl

– Spider ring

– Skull earrings from Diva

– Amethyst ring

– Silver thumb ring.

I decided to go for a very heavy, gothic look to celebrate Tim Burton’s special day. I also made sure to incorporate some black and white stripes, which are a recurring motif in Mr Burton’s films.

Although I really love all of Tim Burtons’ movies, I think that my favorite is Vincent. If you haven’t seen it before, click here to check it out.

Do you have a favorite Tim Burton film?
