Daily outfit 14/2/2010. Valentines Day.

Happy Valentines Day to all!  I hope that it has been a great day for everyone, and that you have all done a little something to spread the love to those who mean the most to you.

I have had a really brilliant day so far.  Ross and I decided to have a Valentines Weekend, and spread the love over two days.

Last night we headed into the city for dinner and a movie.

I am wearing:

-Red and white striped top from Cotton On

– Black dress pants from Target

– Red and White gingham heels from Shoo Biz

– Diamante earrings from Diva

– Amethyst ring

– Daschund bag (Colonel Horatio Schnitzel)

We went out for Japanese food at Izakaya Chuji In Lonsdale Street.  It is by far my favorite Japanese restaurant.  Their menu is huge, the servings small and cheap and the service is brilliant.  My favorite part of the meal was a plate of gyoza (dumplings) and the green tea ice cream I had for dessert.

After dinner, we headed to the rooftop cinema to check out Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.  It was rather chilly, so I was glad that I had worn my lovely thrifted fur coat (faux of course).

The movie was excellent.  Ferris Beuller’s Day Off is one of my favorite movies of all time.  I learned some very valuable lessons from it, including:

-sometimes, you are perfectly justified in taking a “mental health day”

– You win more friends by being nice than by acting like a bitch.

– Shampoo mohawks are awesome

The cinema was lovely too.  It was really very romantic, being 6 floors up, in the open air, holding hands with my favorite man and watching an awesome movie.  I felt very lucky.  The rooftop cinema’s season closes in a few weeks time, so if you are in Melbourne, I suggest booking yourself tickets quick smart (and remember to rug up, it’s pretty cold up there).

Today we had a massive sleep-in and then went to the Nathan Court Chinese Restaurant for their Yum Cha banquet.  All of the food was utterly delicious and I am so full from it all. Plus, at $16 per person, it was an absolute steal.

This is what I wore out to lunch.

I am wearing:

– White embroidered dress (once belonged to my mother)

– Brown leather studded wedges

– Silver filigree bangle

– silver rope bracelet

– butterfly earrings

– Amethyst ring

– “love” ring

– Pink silk pashmina (gift from Ross)

I love this dress, because it is so floaty and romantic, but I rarely get an opportunity to wear it. It’s also perfect for wearing to a banquet, because it’s really loose around the middle, so you don’t get that uncomfortable squished feeling when you eat too much.

Hope you are all having a brilliant day.  Mwah!
