Daily outfit 3/10/2012 and an award.
Sometimes, being a teeny-weenie isn’t such a great thing. It sucks when you have to get someone taller than you to help you to reach the top shelf at the supermarket. It’s no fun never being able to see the screen when you go to the cinema and it’s the pits when you’re always positioned in the front in family photos. However, being small does have it’s advantages. For example, just last week I got this awesomely pretty top from Target’s girl’s clearance section for just $7. It’s days like this when I thank God for making me little!
- Black floral butterfly-wing sleeve top from Target
- Brown tie-waist flares (thrifted)
- Brown Zu platforms (thrifted)
- Turquoise earrings (made by my aunt)
- Silver squiggle ring
-Owl ring (gift from Pernickity Pony)
-Amethyst ring
- Multi-coloured Indian ring
- Malachite beaded bracelet
- Assorted Indian bangles.
I just love this top. The print is so pretty, the shape is gorgeous and the fabric flutters in the breeze. What’s not to love?
Now, for some very exciting news! Life of Bun has nominated me for a Most Inspiring Blogger award! I am so incredibly flattered!
This is the first blog award I’ve ever received, so it’s extra-special to me. She’s asked me to answer a couple of questions with the award, so here goes:
What clothing item makes you feel at your best?
This is a really tricky question to answer, because there are so many things in my closet that make me feel really great. It depends hugely on my mood. If I had to choose just one item, I would select a perfectly-fitted pair of jeans. They can be worn with just about anything, they’re comfortable and they show off my backside to perfection (I’m oddly proud of my butt!)
When are you most energetic? Morning/noon/evening?
Definitely in the morning. I am a total morning person. I bounce out of bed, ready to get the day rolling! I seem to do my best work before 2pm. After that, all I want to do is slob on the couch, paint my nails and watch cartoons.
Time to kick back and relax! What’s your pick-me-up food/drink?
A good cup of tea, preferably earl grey, served black with no sugar in a pretty mug. If I’m feeling really indulgent, I’ll put a slice of lemon tart on the side. Perfection!
Your favourite kind of chocolate?
I’ve recently discovered Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations chocolate bars, and the ‘popping candy’ one is incredible. Aside from that, I like dark chocolate with a caramel centre.
To follow that up, what’s your favourite pastime?
I have an awful lot of hobbies. Reading is probably at the top of my list, followed by crafting, watching cult movies, lego and karaoke.
What sound do you love?
The tappy-tap of fingers typing on a keyboard!
If you could pack your bags and leave right now, what country or city would you go to?
London. I’ve always wanted to travel to England, and I imagine I’d have a ball in London.
There’s an album called “soundtrack to your life”. What songs have to be on it?
Run to Paradise by the Choirboys
Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog
The Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Shimmer by Fuel
Breakfast at Tiffanies by Deep Blue Something
Mary Jane by Alanis Morrisette
Molly’s Lips by Nirvana
Thriller by Michael Jackson
Sugarhigh by Coyote Shivers
Carey by Joni Mitchell
One Good Man by Janis Joplin
Happiness is a Warm Gun by The Beatles
Delilah by The Dresden Dolls
Magic’s in the Makeup by No Doubt.
This is a very short list. I could keep going and going, but it would get pretty ridiculous! I just have way too many favourite songs to list them all, and each of these songs is really significant to me in a different way. Some of them are songs that speak to me, which I feel a strong connection to. Some are place-markers for certain times in my life and others are just songs I listen to all the time!
Do you have any bad habits?
Um, loads! I think my worst one is interrupting people while they’re speaking. I get really excited and I’ll butt in when I think of something to say, rather than being polite and waiting for the other person to wrap up their story.
What’s one habit that other’s do that you absolutely can’t stand?
Using the word ‘gay’ to describe something that’s bad. Also people who use their children in strollers as weapons to push their way through crowded shopping centres.
Now, I’m supposed to nominate another blogger for this award. After a lot of thinking, I’ve decided to give the Most Inspirational Blogger award to Amanda of Dragonflight Dreams. I’ve been reading her blog for quite a while, and I really admire Amanda’s positive writing style and all the awesome stories she tells. If you haven’t already, please go an check out her blog!
